Yvonne Rainer (born November 24, 1934) is one of the most influential artistic figures of the last 50 years. Her work has been foundational across multiple disciplines and movements: dance, cinema, feminism, minimalism, conceptual art, and postmodernism. She is an American dancer, choreographer and filmmaker whose work in these disciplines is regarded as ground breaking and experimental. Rainer currently lives and works in New York.
